Pengaruh Konsentrasi Clorox Terhadap Induksi Tunas Bawang Putih (Allium sativum) Secara Invitro pada Media Pertumbuhan BAP dan NAA

The garlic plant is a type of plant that is beneficial in the world of health in which it contains alkaline and acillin which are known as drugs for diabetes mellitus. As a result of one of the difficult breeding factors that do not have flowers, the garlic plant is categorized as a rare plant. Therefore, to obtain a relatively fast supply of seeds with the induction of shoots, tissue culture techniques can be used. The research was conducted at the Tissue Culture Laboratory of PT. Bina Sawit Makmur Palembang in August 2019. In vitro propagation of garlic generally uses explants from adventitious shoots from cloves. This study aims to determine the effect of chlorox concentration on the induction of garlic shoots in vitro on BAP and NAA growth media. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments. The concentrations of chlorox used in garlic sterilization were 5%, 10% and 15%. The parameters measured in this study were the level of media sterilization and media contamination due to fungi and bacteria. The composition of BAP and NAA media had a significant effect on the shoot growth of garlic. The results of this study indicate that the 5% concentration has a contamination percentage of 42.85%, a concentration of 10% with a contamination percentage of 54.28% and a concentration of 15% with a contamination percentage of 31.42%. The level of sterilization at a concentration of 5% has a sterile percentage of 38.57% and a concentration of 10% has a sterile percentage of 30.85% while a concentration of 15% has a percentage of 46.28%.
