Pengaruh Suhu dan Lama Thawing terhadap Viabilitas Sperma Sapi Madura

The purpose of this study was to determine the optimal temperature and duration of frozen semen thawing of Madura cattle for use in Artificial Insemination. The research design used factorial completely randomized design (2 factors) with 3 replications. The first factor was thawing temperature (34ᵒC, 37ᵒC and 40ᵒC) and the second factor was thawing time (30, 35 and 40 seconds). The data obtained were tested using the Analysis of variance factorial pattern α 5%, if there was a significant difference then further tested using the Honestly Real Difference Test α 5%. The results showed that the temperature and duration of thawing had an effect on the viability of spermatozoa in Madura cattle. Thawing temperature at 37ᵒC and thawing time of 30 seconds resulted in optimal spermatozoa quality.
