Practicum was conducted to determine the abiotic factors that affect plant growth on peat soil in Jakabaring. This research was carried out on Thursday-Friday 17-18 June 2021, carried out in the peat swamp area of Jakabaring and the integrated laboratory of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. Parameters analyzed in this study were horizon layer, pH, soil temperature, soil morphological characteristics (soil structure, soil texture, soil size, soil shape), soil moisture content test, soil porosity test and soil color. Abiotic factors, which consist of inanimate objects such as water, soil, air, light, sun and so on. In an ecosystem, plants act as decomposers. Soil horizon layer, indicates that the Apg horizon (0 – 20 cm) is a horizon on the surface of the soil that has undergone tillage, because the pedons studied show traces of tillage. The soil temperature is 30°C and pH 4.68. The soil moisture content test was obtained in sample 1 of 113%, then sample 2 obtained a result of 120% and in sample 3 the result was 115%. In the soil porosity test, the results in sample 1 were 71%, sample 2 was 72% and sample 3 was 75%. In the last observation, namely the color test and soil turbidity, the results of the color change were slightly blackish green. Temperature affects plant physiology, including stomata opening, transpiration rate, rate of water and nutrient absorption, photosynthesis, and respiration. Temperature affects plant physiology, including stomata opening, transpiration rate, rate of water and nutrient absorption, photosynthesis, and respiration. The soil moisture content test and soil porosity test used 3 repetitions. Temperatures that are too high or too low will inhibit the growth process. Photosynthesis in plants usually occurs in the leaves, stems, or other parts of the plant. The optimum temperature (15°C to 30°C) is the best temperature for growth
