The objectives of this study were: To find out the frequency distribution of residual chlorine in swimming pool water in Palembang city, to find out the frequency distribution of Escherichia coli bacteria in swimming pool water in Palembang city, to determine the relationship between residual chlorine and Escherichia coli bacteria. The remaining chlorine obtained from 4 swimming pools in Palembang city meets the requirements set by the 2017 Minister of Health and 3 ponds. swimming has not met the standard requirements for residual chlorine according to Permenkes RI No. 32 of 2017 because the swimming pool water has its own reasons for increasing its chlorine levels amid the Covid-19 virus pandemic and chlorine used as a substitute for disinfectants. Of the 7 sampling points with 3 repetitions of each swimming pool in the city of Palembang, all of them meet the requirements according to the quality standard of PERMENKES NO. 416 of 1990 with a maximum total colony of 200 colonies / 1 ml of swimming pool water. If any swimming pool water reaches a maximum total colony of up to 200 colonies it is considered a contaminant. Meanwhile, if the pool water 30 is considered sterile, and there is 1 data, the 7th pool water with a total colony of 35 colonies is considered not sterile because it is more than the sterile threshold, that is and is considered non-contaminant due to the total colony
