IDENTIFIKASI SENYAWA EUGENOL PADA BUAH JAMBU BIJI MERAH (Psidium guajava L.) DENGAN KROMATOGRAFI GAS (GC-MS)

Guava plant is known by the latin name of psidium guajava linn., , belongs to the myrtaceae family. Beside from the nutritional content, guava also contains phytochemicals including polyphenols, essential oil that gives the characteristic smell of guava (eugenol), saponin combined with oleanolat, quarsetine, licopen, tannin, ursolic acid, psidiolic acid, kratogolic acid, and guajaverin acid.  One of these compounds can be identified by using the GC-MS chromatographic method to see the compound more spesifically. This study aims to determine eugenol compound in red guava used gas chromatographic. This research used experimental method in the laboratory. Red guava sample cut into small dice, then added methanol solvent and then macerated with methanol + 6 days. The maceration result was extracted again used rotary evaporator to obtain the concentrated extract. The concentrated extract then analyzed by use gas chromatographic (GC-MS). The result showed that the red guava fruit sampel that analized, no eugenol compound was identified in the sample. From the research that has been done, it  can be concluded that unidentifyable eugenol compound in the sample of red guava fruit (Psidium guajava L.)
