Efektivitas Penanaman Mangrove Menggunakan Bumbung Bambu di Muara Cikaung Desa Ujungjaya Kecamatan Sumur

This research was conducted in January - June 2023, in Ujungjaya Village, Sumur District. This activity aims to calculate the level of effectiveness of planting mangroves using the Bamboo Tube method in Muara Cikaung, Ujungjaya Village, Sumur District. The method used is using the bamboo roof method and the bamboo stake method. Effectiveness is calculated as a percentage of the number of live and dead plants. Planting was carried out in two locations, namely on Coastal 1 and Coastal 2. The planting area of each coastal was 0.32 Ha and 1.85 Ha. Mangrove planting was carried out in May 2023. In monitoring two months after planting, it was seen that mangrove planting on coastal 1 was better than mangroves on coastal 2. On Coastal 1, it grew around 81%, while on Coastal 2 it grew 55.8%. This is because on Coastal 1 almost 80% of the plantings use bamboo roofs as simple APO (wave breaking equipment), while on Coastal 2, only about 50% use bamboo. This greatly affects the safety of plants. Coastal 1 is more protected, both from natural waves and from the sand mining boats. Based on these results, it can be seen that the effectiveness of the successful planting of mangroves using the bamboo tube method is more effective than the bamboo stake method.
