Letters are a means of communication to convey written information by one party to another. Based on observations made at the Administration Section of the Faculty of Science and Technology UIN Raden Fatah Palembang, it was found that the problem in correspondence activities that was most often encountered in that place was the length of time required if employees wanted to search for existing letter files, also related to with hardcopy which allows for the loss of letters. Another problem then is that it is difficult for employees to find out the letter number due to the WFH (Work From Home) policy that was enforced at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang during this research which resulted in time delays in terms of service and letter making, the cause/root of all these problems is because incoming and outgoing mail is not well managed. Therefore, this study aims to design and build an application that will solve these problems, namely the application for data collection of incoming and outgoing mail at the Administration Section of the Faculty of Science and Technology, UIN Raden Fatah Palembang based on web. This application was built using the Prototype method, the programming language PHP and MySQL as the database management system and the blackbox method as an application testing method. After testing, the result is that the application for data collection of incoming and outgoing mail can make it easier for related parties to find the letters needed, the registration of letters becomes computerized and inputting letters becomes faster and safer because they are stored directly in the system.
