Several factors can affect the plankton' temperature, light intensity, and brightness of a water. [1] Phytoplankton are the main source of chains in a water as primary producers or autotrophic organisms due to their ability to form organic and inorganic substances. This identification is to further identify Phytoplankton and their abundance and diversity in the waters. This research was conducted in February 2019 at the Hydrobiology Lab of the Public Water Fisheries Research And Fisheries Research Institute of Palembang. Phytoplankton sampling location is in sulak udang river located behind BRPPUPP Palembang building. The sample is taken using a drip pipette, then poured into the S-R as much as 1 ml, cover with a glass cover then observed and recorded the results. From the observation or identification obtained the composition of 3 phytoplankton klas consisting of 14 genera, with the composition of the overlap contained in the class Bacillariophycea 75% (6 genera), Chlorophyceae 5% (6 genera), and Cyanophyceae 20% (2 genera). The highest phytoplankton abundance was found in the Bacillariophycea class group (2289 cells/L), then the Chlorophyceae class group (162 L cells), and the Cyanophyceae class (596 cells/L).
