The use of Musi River water for daily activities is still mostly done by the people of South Sumatra, especially the city of Palembang. However, currently the water of the Musi River is polluted, because the amount of waste dumped into the river causes an increase in the content of heavy metals, one of which is iron metal (Fe). The metal content of Fe in the waters of the Musi River is higher than other metals. Although Fe is an essential mineral, the presence of excess Fe in water can have a negative impact on health. Therefore, it is necessary to make efforts to reduce Fe levels so as not to exceed the threshold value that has been set. Efforts to reduce Fe levels are included in the water treatment process at the Water Treatment Plant (IPA) and the value of Fe levels is measured using the test kit method. The results of the analysis show that the Fe content values taken from 5 different sample points A, B, C, D, and E tend to decrease in succession by 0.73, 0.19, 0.15, 0.13, 0.11 mg/L after going through the water treatment process. The final result of the Fe content indicates that the value is smaller than the maximum level that has been determined by Permenkes No.492 Menkes/Per/IV/2010 with chemical parameters for Fe content of 0.3 mg/L, so that the observations are in accordance with and does not exceed the quality standards for the quality of clean water that can be consumed and is safe for the body
