The purpose of this study was to determine the levels of Iron (Fe) and Ammonia (NH3) in river water in Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra. This test was carried out on river surface water samples using a spectrophotometer. Located at UPTD Environmental Laboratory, Department of Environment and Land (DLHP) South Sumatra Province. In each study using SNI / Indonesian National Standard. The standard quality for iron (Fe) is 0.3 mg/L and for Ammonia 0.005 mg/L. In the iron (Fe) test, the sample results are AP.1 (0.1628 mg/L), AP.2 (0.1746 mg/L). L, AP.3 (0.1763 mg/L), AP.4 (0.1476 mg/L), and at AP.5 (0.0332 mg/L). According to the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 32 of 2017 concerning environmental health quality standards and water health requirements for sanitation hygiene purposes, the maximum limit of iron content in water is 1 mg/L. so it can be seen that the test results show the content of Iron (Fe) is still below the standard. While for Ammonia (NH3) the sample results obtained AP.1 (0.1598 mg/L), AP.2 (0.0763 mg/L), AP.3 (0.0709 mg/L), AP.4 (0.0708 mg/L), and AP.5 (0.0332 mg/L). Ammonia levels are, among others, concentrations of 1-3 mg/L, with ammonia levels that can poison fish and other aquatic creatures, so it can be seen that the results of testing ammonia levels are still below the standard so that they are still safe and do not harm fish and other living things on the river.
