In correspondence, there is a number system in each letter that aims to facilitate the recording of incoming and outgoing letters. The numbering of the letter aims to find out the number of outgoing and incoming letters that have been circulating in an organization or company. The Communication and Informatics Office of Lahat Regency is a government agency tasked with planning, coordinating, implementing and controlling activities in the Information and Communication sector. In this activity, involved a lot of correspondence process. These letters are recorded in a ledger, but this results in errors in data collection and searching for letter data, and it is difficult to know the number of letters circulating in the agency. Not all letters are properly archived, there are errors in recording letter numbers, making the wrong disposition destination address, and also cases of lost letters. To overcome this problem, the authors have developed a website-based information system using objectoriented technology methods to record incoming and outgoing mail at the Lahat District Communication and Information Service. The main objective of developing this system is to improve performance and efficiency in managing correspondence, both in archiving letters and searching for letter data so that it can be done more quickly. The result of this study is a website-based archiving information system that can improve administrative performance in terms of managing incoming and outgoing mail.
