The impacts of land and forest fires have not only affected the health, economy and social of the people nationally but have also affected neighboring countries. The losses incurred due to these fires need prevention efforts, therefore this study aims to obtain data, information on which areas contributed the most hotspots from 2015 to 2020 and study the analysis of the distribution of hotspots in South Sumatra. Retrieval of hotspot data from 2015 to 2020 on the LAPAN Fire Hotspot page with the .csv file format, the data that has been taken is then mapped using Microsoft Excel, sorted by regions with the highest number of hotspots to the lowest during 2015 to 2020. After the data grouped and visible the average hotspots in various regions during 2015 to 2020, then a forecasting stage will be carried out to predict the number of hotspots that are likely to occur in the following months. The results of the descriptive statistical analysis of this study found that during the last 5 years (2015-2020) the most hotspot distribution occurred in 2015, especially in the months of September-November with 39393 hotspots in Ogan Komering Ilir Regency and 11755 hotspots distribution in the Cengal District.
